"The INTO endorses the Children's Food Campaign for restrictions to be placed on the advertising of unhealthy foods to children. Everyday, in classrooms, primary teachers see the effects of poor diet which is leading to more and more over-weight and obese children. There is no doubt that advertising to children is a contributory factor. Every effort should be made to protect children from such advertising." John Carr, General Secretary, INTO

"We need to tackle the way in which young children are the target group for the aggressive advertising of junk food. Children, particularly those under 12, are targeted because of their significant influence on the foods bought by their parents and in developing brand loyalty in later years. This type of targeting is highly manipulative and it is high time that we throw junk food advertising out with the rubbish.  We support the Children’s Food Campaign.’ Jillian van Turnhout, CEO, Children’s Rights Alliance
