NATIONAL HEART ALLIANCE
The National Heart Alliance comprising 25 member organisations, is an independent non-governmental organisation, funded by the Irish Heart Foundation and member subscriptions. It aims to increase co-operation and advocate for change in the fight against heart disease.
A major focus of the work of the Alliance is the marketing of foods high in fat, sugar and salt to children. To consider policies and action on this issue, a sub group of the Alliance was established in 2004.
